East Alabama Gun Club will host another USPSA new shooters class on 12-14-08 at 10am EST. Please plan to arrive at the range by 9:45am. This class is for anyone interested in learning about the rules and how a USPSA match runs without the pressure of being in an actual match. We will start with a class discussion on equipment and safety and go over many of the rules of USPSA. You will learn what to expect at a match, from signing up to the final shot on match day. We will start live fire with some group shooting where we will evaluate grip, stance, and basic gun handling fundamentals. We will then move to a standards stage where you will shoot 2 to 4 targets at close range, (within 5 yards), reloading in between from a magazine pulled from your belt. We will finish the day shooting a field course that will be from 24 to 32 rounds. After the class we will hang around for those who want to shoot the field course again or who may want some one on one instruction. You will need a safe, operational handgun of 9mm or larger, a belt or paddle holster that covers the trigger guard, 3 or 4 magazines and pouches, "pouches are optional for the class", 150 rounds. We encourage you not to purchase a lot of new equipment before the class. What you already have may be fine and during our equipment talk you will learn what others are using. Water will be provided at the range. The class is free of charge but a donation of a few bucks to cover the costs of targets and pasters is appreciated. If you plan on attending the class please send an email to EAGunClub@aol.com so that we can plan for the correct number of students. We hope to see you at the range so that we may share our sport.
